Mines a pint please…
Let me to introduce myself. My name is Dave and my day job is a freelance finance journalist.
Now don’t judge a book by its cover – just because I’m a finance journalist it doesn’t mean that those dull stereotypes are true, I’m much more fun than all that…
Although finance journalism doesn’t see me jetting all over the world, staying in tropical locations covering the latest celebrity fall-out (I’m not bitter at all) I rather like my job and my chosen subject matter. However it can be a double edged sword. While I can be confident I am making the right financial choices, I am regularly cornered by family, friends, family friends’, friends of family friends’… for advice. I am always happy to help but I’ll admit it can take the shine off an otherwise relaxing Sunday pint.
And so the concept of davesinsuranceguide was born.
One of the most frequent subjects I am asked about is insurance. I put this down to the fact that everyone needs it in some form or other. I wanted to get all the information I know in one place – a kind of one-stop shop that provides answers to a whole spectrum of insurance queries. Not only that, a place that you can compare deals and buy insurance too. Welcome to davesinsuranceguide.co.uk
The point is that, while I don’t like turning people away, I prefer to help from the office than from my local pub at the weekend. Even I will admit that insurance small print has never been the hottest topic of conversation.
So the next time my nephew Lewis (19) passes his driving test and wants some advice on keeping the cost of his motor insurance down or my friend has another child and wants to make sure his family are protected in the event of his sudden death, I can simply direct them to the website and have my drink in peace with my conscience intact.
I hope you also find the information useful. And don’t forget to keep a lookout for my new blogs in which I will be keeping you up-to-date on developments in the insurance industry and – most importantly – how they could affect you and your pocket.
